Beyond The Veil

So with the re-starting of the comic you may be wondering: “Who are these strange people? Where’s Nikki? Where’s Ben a-aand Asta an Bul’wyf and… what the hell is going on?!”

Yes, this is still Beyond the Veil. As it happens there’s a lot going on in the universe, and this is one of the threads Beowulf and I eventually wanted to tie in. My new artist and I decided to go ahead and start with it to allow our readers to adjust to her unique style before we face the inevitable comparisons once she starts doing characters already familiar to our readers.

And since you’ve patiently waited, allow me to introduce you to the art of Dream Taker. She’s a superb artist with great range and these past few weeks of working with her have convinced me that Beyond the Veil has a bright future as long as she’s with us. I do hope you give her a warm welcome and please, enjoy the show.

This update is main storyline, and I realize after an ungodly wait this isn’t exactly jumping at the gun, but taking the long view this page needed to be here and so here it is. We’re telling a story, and no matter how long the wait, we have to pick up where we left off. Be glad I didn’t have DT open the door on three dessicated skeletons, which would of course in real time be all that’d be left. Such a happenstance might put a kink in the story though, and we can’t have a little thing like reality intruding on comicry.

I should probably standardize the titles on these pages. Yep. I probably should.

Here we are and the last two weeks have flown by. The next page reveals what we all greatly suspected would be revealed, and as such is an anti-climax! I put an exclamation point there, so be a good reader, eyes widened slightly in surprise and excitement! Again!

Nicodemus Aurelius, as those of you who are just catching up, wasn’t always Nikki. Well now you know what he looked like at his end, rather than her new beginning.

It’s a good thing he/she had(has) a very plastic personality. If you went cross-eyed trying to follow that last, it’s okay. There are help groups.
